Category: Life is Sweet

The infamous Met Gala is right around the corner! On Monday May 6, 2024, celebrities and designers will strut the red carpet at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York CityThe official dress code is “The Garden of Time”. In celebration of fashions biggest night, we asked our local fashion retailers for on-theme Met Gala looks that can be found right here in Cherry Creek North.

Outfit details- Shoes: Ferragamo, Shirt: Eton, Suit: Zegna, Bowtie: Dion

The Met Gala immerses us to a history of past lives and cyclical themes of beauty and destruction. Not only does a tuxedo speak to times of the past, it serves as a storied object, black and white, representing grace. The floral bowtie reflects fragility and putridness underlined in the Gala’s celebration of its dress code, ‘The Garden of Time’ by J.G. Ballard.

GARBARINI

With a legacy spanning decades, this boutique has perfected the art of blending high fashion with everyday wearability. From coveted designer labels to eclectic streetwear finds, Garbarini offers a diverse selection that caters to every style preference.

At the heart of my ensemble lies the pièce de résistance: a skirt from the visionary atelier of Eisabetta Franchi. Crafted with ethereal finesse, its sheer fabric delicately envelops the wearer, adorned with sequined razor-cut stems that seemingly bloom on this silhouette. Paired with the Caroline Lace Bustier by brand Generation Love, this ensemble is a symphony of texture and form, merging femininity with an avant-garde edge. Grounded upon (yet simultaneously soaring above) the Kori platform heels by Sam Edleman, wrapped in crushed luxe blue velvet. And to 'crown' this manifestation of dreams, a custom headpiece, a testament to my personal ingenuity and whimsy. This event reminds us: Fashion is not merely fabric and thread—it is the tangible manifestation of our most extravagant dreams. - Deb Davenport of Garbarini.

HAVEN

Our collection wouldn't be complete without this fresh and fabulous look from the ladies of HAVEN - a lifestyle shop based on the philosophy that everything should be timeless and tastefully rebellious. Visit their stunning boutique at 257 Fillmore to shop their Met Gala-inspired look.

"This silk charmeuse beauty from Figue perfectly embodies this year’s Met Gala dress code of  “The Garden of Time '' inspired by the (very moody) short story written by J.G. Balland.  The timeless, flattering silhouette is giving ancient Greek goddess but in a bold, fantastical modern floral pattern."
