Long before boutiques and dining venues dotted the neighborhood between 1st and 3rd avenues, Native Americans and traders got the scent of Cherry Creek. Making their way along the Cherokee Trail north from the Santa Fe Trail to the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River, these pioneers founded the original settlement of Denver. In honor of Colorado Day, Aug. 1, we salute the homegrown businesses and retail pioneers in Cherry Creek North. |
