Art is in the air this Fourth of July weekend. The 19th annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival offers a creative and unique outing that can be fun for the whole family. From 2nd to 3rd avenues on the six streets between Clayton and Steele, Cherry Creek North will become a piazza where you can chat with renowned artists, sample fine cuisine, enjoy live music and, of course, find fine artwork. More than 350,000 visitors are expected to join us at the world-class, award-winning festival. |

Getting there is half the fun
If you peddle to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival you can valet park your bike at 3rd Avenue and Steele Street or 2nd Avenue and Detroit Street for $1 (a suggested donation) to Bike Denver’s non-profit mission. Hey, compared to $5 parking elsewhere, this is a deal. Performance Art
Three stages set up throughout Cherry Creek North will host bands of varied genres, rock to jazz, during the Arts Festival. If you can’t get enough live art, make a point to head to Bang & Olufsen at 2445 E. Third Ave., #2 the following week (they’re closed during the Arts Festival). Check out B&O’s house-wide sound systems. The premier European audio/video brand carries home theater systems, Lutron lighting and shade control systems, home automation and intercom systems. Pricey? Yes. But the consultations are free. http://beostores.bang-olufsen.com/denver-cherrycreek/welcome |

The Mobile Goes ‘Round
The mobile museum (clarification: a museum on wheels) is scheduled to stop in Cherry Creek North for the festival. Janus Funds, the festival’s sponsor, supports art in grade schools with this full-circle program to engage students, educate them and train youths as docents for the mobile museum educating other youths about art. The museum on wheels positions students as curators, enabling them to buy art to hang in the mobile museum once they’ve defended his/her choice to an ad hoc committee—very real world.
