Happy New Wear!
Welcome to 2010. Resolutions reign right now so if you’re looking to change your look, slim your figure, polish your style or just plain start over feeling great, head to Cherry Creek North. New is the new new. Who knew? There’s just no substitute for that first-wear feeling. We love the excitement of a fresh start and may the New Year bring us all of our fabulous faves that we don’t even know we need yet.

WOMEN’S WEAR

Be Bold
The rage at St. John Boutique at 3170 E. 2nd Ave. is bold prints in black and white. Nothing says, “I’m no shrinking violet” like stepping out in something with panache. The caviar dress (shown) requires just as much sophistication and taste as it implies. Bon vivants only!
Pretty little lace
What really counts is what’s underneath it all. At SOL at 248 Detroit St. you will find pretty little lace, comfy terrycloth and everything you need to give you the boost you’ve been waiting for. Let the experts help you because the right fit is everything. And in case you’re looking for a gift, they have know-it-alls in that department too.
Power to the Pumps
Last year flat was the new up, but this year up is the new up. Because – just like the economy – glam shoes are on the rise. Nothing kicks the winter doldrums faster than a fab pair of party pumps. Check out these Barbie-inspired Starburst evening sandals available at Betsey Johnson at 120 Clayton Lane. Hey – Solo in the Spotlight; these shoes were made for dancin’.

MEN’S WEAR

New lang syne
Just because you can get another year out of that boxy three-button suit in the back of your closet, doesn’t mean you should. Sometimes we have to shelve the trends of auld lang syne. Men’s Wearhouse at 201 Fillmore St. specializes in outfitting men for any occasion. Our picks are the preppy plaid ties from Calvin Klein, and the must-have: narrow ties from Wilke Rodriguez .
Look like a million
What do you have in common with Denver’s elite athletes? You both have custom suits from Clothing by Andre at 326 St. Paul St. The by-appointment-only boutique will give you star treatment as tailors craft the suit or shirt to your measurements. The Broncos, Nuggets and Avs may have it in the bank, but you’ll be the one looking like a million.

EVERYWEAR

Poetic fragrances
Wake up and smell the Hermessence. Hermessence |’hərm’esəns| (noun) “a collection of olfactory poems from Hermès Paris, with sobriety and intensity, which freely explore new facets of emotion. Nature reinvented, unexpected and poetic.” This collection for men and women is the way to spice your scent and up your allure. Fragrances have herbal undertones of basil, paprika, vanilla, pepper and roses. Personal consultations are available through the Hermès Paris website or in the store at 105 FIllmore St. to help you find the perfect fit for you.
Solid foundations
Solid foundations are always in style. If you’re looking to get outdoors more or jump into your revamped workout plan, start with comfort. The North Face at 100 Detroit St. offers a collection of softwool stretch shirts and pants for men and women that are perfect weight and thickness to wear under anything to stay warm the rest of winter while you’re out jogging or on the sidelines at the Super Bowl.
Smart Style
You know them when you see them: people who exude brainpower, that rare breed of posh geeks. They have a certain mysterious quality about them that makes you wonder what they’re thinking about under those glasses. For the frames that say you’re worthy of Mensa, head to Europtics at 100 Fillmore St. You have 20/20 vision? Sometimes it’s ok to fake it.
