Cherry Creek North celebrates the 6th Annual Denver Arts Week! Below is a list of activities planned for Denver Arts Week. Download the event and location map here.

  • Elizabeth Lindsay Creations
    Elizabeth Lindsay will introduce the Shields Collection on November 7th. Buy two Token Tags and get one free on November 7th only.

Join us for the SIGHTS & SOUNDS OF CHERRY CREEK NORTH as we celebrate the final day of Denver Arts Week in Cherry Creek North on Saturday, November 10th. Many of our galleries and shops have planned art-related exhibits, educational sessions, music, and even a silent auction where all proceeds will benefit the Cherry Creek Arts Festival’s year-round art education programs!

Here is a list of activities planned for Saturday, November 10th. A map will be available on this page very soon so check back frequently.

  • Bayleat – La Vie En Couleur
    2:00 – 6:00PM: Meet landscape photographer David Balyeat as he reveals 30 stunning city and landscape pieces in the Grand Opening of his first gallery, Balyeat- La Vie en Couleur.

  • Caribou Art Gallery
    2:00-6:00PM: Presentation and discussion with Paul Cunningham.
    Silent Auction Item: “Panhandle Storm Study” by painter Robin Smith who captures the combined intensity of a summer rainstorm and austerity of the "Panhandle" near Fort Robinson. Having migrated from the west coast to teach at Chadron State College, Smith is in awe of the history, the vastness and mystery of the great plains. In the studio or as in plein air- working primarily with oils, his subtle palette translates into the power of the land, as represented by this painting (24" x 12 1/2"). Retail value $1,600.

  • Cherry Creek Dance
    1:00-1:30PM: Open performance of the children’s cast of The Moscow Ballet’s Nutcracker and a hip hop production performance from their 70 Cherry Creek Dance Performing Company members ranging from ages 6-18.
    1:30-2:00PM: A free hip hop class for anyone interested – we will split into 4 rooms and teach hip hop for ages 4-6, ages 7-10, ages 11-13 and then a teen/adult class.

  • Division West
    2:00-6:00PM: Artist Dan Ericson will present "The Scientologist".

  • Essentia
    2:00-6:00PM: Exhibition and opening by local artist Marlene Feinholz.

    Silent Auction Item: "Wash Park Plein Aire" 11x14 oil on canvas. Retail value $450.

  • Gallerie Rouge
    10:00AM-6:00PM: “Petite Posters”: Posters don’t have to be large. Come see a collection of original, vintage posters from around the world, all in small format. Many are rare and unusual pieces, but all will delight the eye. There will be music provided by Liam Popperts, an East High School Musician. Refreshments will be provided. 11:00AM, 1:00PM, 3:00PM: “Make a Miniature”: Create a print from start to finish. This class is free for kids kindergarten to 5th grade. Each child will leave with a piece of original art ready to hang on the wall. Bromwell Celebrity art teachers will be in attendance at various times during the day. Limited to 20 children at each class; call or email to reserve a place (720-318-7556 or theposterlady@gmail.com). Parents must remain in the gallery during the class. Supported by the Denver Creativity Challenge Community.
    Silent Auction item: Fillmore West-Buffalo Springfield and Miller Blues Band-1967: This is an original, very collectable poster designed by Wes Wilson, one of the leading designers of psychedelic posters. Wes is most well-known for designing posters for Bill Graham of the Fillmore West in San Francisco. One of these posters was on display at the Denver Art Museum's show "The Psychedelic Experience" in 2009. Framed with Archival Materials including museum glass (21" x 29" x 2"). Retail value $450.

  • Mangelsen Images of Nature Gallery
    2:00-6:00PM: "Minitures and Music" and an educational global tour of the work of world renowned nature photographer Thomas D Mangelsen.
    Silent Auction Item: Steamboat barn Past and Present: Framed, limited edition photograph (20" x 30"). Retail value $995.

    1:00-2:00PM: “Mind Flight” lecture with world-renowned flame work artist Shane Fero.
    2:00-6:00PM: Artist reception for Shane Fero with live music.
    Silent Auction Item: Golden Miro Bird: Lamp-worked glass bird by Shane Fero. Retail Value $600 (6 1/2" x 4" x 3").

    5:00-7:00PM: Join prAna during Denver's Arts Week for a free Chakra Reading & Cleansing and check out the beautiful Mala beads & Tibetan jewelry! It is said that our body contains hundreds of chakras that are the key to the operation of our being. These "spinning wheels" draw-in coded information from our surroundings. Coded information can be anything from a color vibration to ultra-violet ray to a radio or micro wave to another person's aura. In essence our chakras receive the health of our environment, including the people we are in contact with (that's why other people's moods have an effect on us!). Learn about your colors and how to use your best energy!

  • Rachel Kemble Photography
    2:00-6:00PM: Come by Rachel Kemble Photography Studio for your holiday mini photo session. $99 session fee includes 15-20 minute mini studio session for up to 5 people, plus 1 digital file. You will be shown 5-10 edited files online to choose from and receive 1-8x12 digital file in color and in B&W for personal use and reproduction.

  • Saks Galleries Cherry Creek
    2:00-6:00PM: American Art Invitational presents “Small Gems” Miniatures from 100 artists from across America, as well as artist demonstrations.
    Silent Auction Item: “In His Youth”: Oil painting on canvas board depicting a young curious Red Fox. Painted by nationally acclaimed Edward Aldrich (12" x 12" ). Retail value $900.

  • Show of Hands
    2:00-5:00PM: Designing with color through paint and folding screens in creative ways. 10 minute screen presentations on the hour from 2-5pm with a Stencil Demo at 3:10pm.
    Silent Auction Item: “Houston Llew Spiritiles”: 3 different tiles and the winning bidder will be able to select from 130 tiles to choose from (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 2"). Retail value $294.

  • Ten Thousand Villages
    2:00-6:00PM: Receive 20% off anything you can fit into our medium shopping bag! Enjoy fair trade coffee, light refreshments and world beats while you shop arts and crafts made by fairly paid artisans around the world. The event marks the end of Denver Arts Week and is a one-day sale not to be missed! Artisan stories.
    Silent Auction Item: “Javan Batik Heron Sculpture”: Big and beautiful, this batiked heron is a lovely combination or artifice and nature. Naturalistic bird hand-carved in word is decorated with elaborate batik-pattern painting (6" x 32" x 10" WHL). Retail value $98.

  • The Philadelphia Print Shop West
    2:00-6:00PM: “Antique Prints Reduced”: Octavo prints were issued to provide the public with affordable alternatives to folio images of birds, animals and American Indians”. Presentation from Chris Lane. With live music by local guitarist Dave Beegle.
    Silent Auction Item: “O.W. Gray's Map of Colorado”: A map of Colorado issued in Philadelphia in 1876, the year of Colorado statehood. Framed (20 1/4" x 23"). Retail value $500.

  • The Twisted Tulip
    2:00-6:00PM: The Twisted Tulip will host Nature's Art Gallery exhibition. Nature's Art Gallery is a mix of environmentally focused photography and framed paintings.

    2:00-6:00PM: “Best of Colorado” Landscapes of Mick Shimonek, as well as live blue grass music.

  • Wow Events/Latitude Sports Marketing
    2:00-6:00PM: “The Aesthetics of Sport” will feature items ranging in all forms of sporting pastimes. Beverages and snacks will be provided. Guests are also welcome to join us in celebrating today’s top athletes. 15% discount on all non-sale items throughout entire week.
