On August 1, 1999, Polly Letofsky left her home in Vail, Colorado, and headed west. She traveled across 4 continents, 22 countries, and over 14,000 miles -- by foot -- to become the first woman to walk around the world.
As an awareness campagin for breast caner, survivors and well-wishers around the world came out to walk with her. Every day strangers welcomed her into their homes and shared meals. Alpine Herbal Wellness is excited and proud to present Paul Bregman, MD in its first “MMJ Educational Q&A” discussion series at AHW. Do you have questions regarding how medicinal cannabis may benefit a particular condition, the recent changes in the law, etc.? AHW will host the “MMJ Educational Q&A” discussion series in an effort to address some of the topics that are causing concern and confusion for patients, doctors and the community in general.
Dr. Bregman came to Denver in 1987 and was a staff radiologist at the Denver Health Medical Center and was the chief of mammography during his tenure there. He was instrumental in bringing mobile mammography to the city and county of Denver.
In 2007, Dr. Bregman began performing medical cannabis evaluations in Colorado at The HEMP and Cannabis Foundation. He trained under Dr. Thomas Osvald at THCF. Dr. Osvald is a retired cardio-thoracic surgeon.
Dr. Bregman is a member of the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine and became the medical director at CannamedUSA in 2008. He has evaluated over 2500 patients and is a sought after speaker and consultant in the medical cannabis field. He views medical cannabis as a developing subspecialty within the practice of medicine.

On August 6th from 6pm to 9pm, Alpine Herbal Wellness was excited to host its second reception for an art show. The artist is Sarah Kleinman, a talented and lovely young woman who recently graduated from the University of Colorado with bachelor's degrees in Art & Art History and Political Science. She will be returning to UC to pursue a MFA and teaching credential.
Sarah's unique portrayal of the natural world makes her work both striking and memorable; her confident, colorful depictions of coastal and mountainous regions speak of her experiments with movement, hue, texture and perspective. Sarah is a commissioned painter and most recently she completed a mural at Sonny’s Rocks Fine Jewelry in Denver. Her works are in exhibitions at Guatemala, Mexico City, and the United Arab Emirates.

PISMO Exhibition of Works by World-Renowned Artist Lino Tagliapietra
Fine Art Glass, Colorado’s foremost gallery for glass art, will present its sixth solo exhibition of new works by internationally-renowned glass artist Lino Tagliapietra. Lino, now 75, has long been considered one of the premier glass artists in the world. The show's opening will be July 17, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the PISMO Cherry Creek North location. The exhibition will run through September 17th.

Rock Posters and Original Art - An exhibition at Gallerie Rouge
Gallerie Rouge is featuring a show of the artwork of Lindsey Kuhn. This includes original artwork, art posters and rock posters. Lindsey Kuhn is a Colorado-based rock poster designer who's been creating images for bands such as Beck, the Flaming Lips, Neko Case, Hank III, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, My Bloody Valentine, Gogol Bordello, the Reverend Horton Heat, White Zombie, the Butthole Surfers and others for 26 years. Kuhn's work was recently collected in the new book Lure of the Swamp. He has created posters for performances at The Ogden, The Fillmore and other Denver music venues.
The Show opens on June 18th and runs through July 18th. There will be an opening reception on Friday, June 18th at 6pm. Mr. Kuhn will be available to sign his poster artwork and his new book.

Second Home 2010 menu, introduces “Lunch in a Second” and “Daily Dish Specials”
Denver’s Second Home Kitchen and Bar is pleased to announce it has rolled out new lunch and dinner menus that continue to offer Second Home’s signature modern spins on timeless favorites, with a greater focus on using locally purchased products.
For lunch, Second Home is offering a wider variety of gourmet sandwiches, soups and fresh salads, plus the delicious brick over pizzas, which are available in two sizes, and the popular Second Home Burger. Busy customers on a tight schedule can take advantage of Second Home’s speedy new Lunch in a Second program, which includes an oven baked sandwich of the day, house salad, choice of soup and non-alcoholic beverage for $12.
Created by Executive Chef Jeff Bolton, Second Home’s expanded dinner menu features a wider range of unique entrees. New dinner options include Pan Seared Duck Breast, featuring duck confit and sweet potato hash with cippolini onions, a Grilled and Smothered Pork Chop with green chili and scalloped potatoes and a Roasted Colorado Rack of Lamb with braised fennel, port demi and house made lingonberry jam. Complete the meal with one of Second Home’s 14 $6 Table Sides, including tator tots, pan roasted wild mushrooms, garlic spinach and parmesan pimentón or sweet potato fries.
The kid-friendly Second Home is also now offering a Daily Dish special highlighting Chef Bolton’s culinary passions. For example, every Thursday night, the restaurant will feature BBQ Babyback Ribs with jalapeno cole slaw. Friday night is a Lobster Boil of Maine lobster with buttered corn and fingerling potatoes.
Second Home, located inside the JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek at 150 Clayton Lane, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Private party space is also available. Patrons always can take advantage of the free valet parking available at the entrance.
