About Cherry Creek North

Parking

Unlike traditional parking meters, the kiosks issue timed receipts allowing shoppers to park and move their cars to different street spots as many times as they wish, until their time expires within the 16 - block Cherry Creek North area. Visitors simply leave their kiosk receipt on their car dash-board. The parking kiosks will accept credit cards, quarters, tokens and Cherry Creek North gift cards. In some cases merchants may validate parking with purchase. Please check with your favorite retailers.

How much does on street parking cost? What are the time limits?

The fee applies to all on-street spaces. On-street parking is available for $1 an hour. There is a 15 minute minimum and a three hour maximum. Once you have paid for parking, you can move your car throughout the district without paying again, provided your receipt has not expired. Simply leave your kiosk receipt on the dash of your car for the paid time period.

What are the hours for paid parking? Is there any free on-street parking?

Payment is required for on-street parking from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. On-street parking is free on Sundays and after 7 p.m. Many merchants in Cherry Creek North have their own lots available or validate. Please call your favorite store or business to be directed to the most convenient parking for your destination.

How is on-street parking monitored?

On-street parking is monitored by the City of Denver, Parking Management. Vehicle Control Agents issue citations on behalf of the City and all fine revenue goes to the City and County of Denver. Any visitor who feels they have received a citation unfairly may contact the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District but, ultimately, may need to speak with the Parking Magistrate for the City.

What is “Pay-By-Phone”?

The City and County of Denver have recently negotiated a contract to conduct a “Pay-By-Phone” test program with VERRUS Parking.  The CCNBID has worked with the City to have the test program run within the CCNBID boundaries.  “Pay-By-Phone” will provide an additional way to pay for parking.

How does “Pay-By-Phone” work?

• To use the service, motorists can sign up in advance for a free account at http://www.paybyphone.com or by calling (888) 480-PARK (7275).

• Information requested will be the motorist’s mobile phone number, license plate and credit card number.

• Once signed up for the service, users simply call the toll-free number and key in the location number that is posted on the meter or nearby signs and the amount of parking time desired.

• The appropriate total, plus a 35-cent service fee including the text message reminder cost, will be charged to their credit card.

What’s the long-term plan for the parking kiosks and “Smart Meters”?

The City and County of Denver is currently reviewing proposals that include a “Smart Meter” replacement program across the City.  The program is intended to allow for the replacement of all existing parking meters in the City of Denver with new “Smart Meters”.  Cherry Creek North is working closely with the City of Denver to ensure that, if the program is approved, the timing of installation will coincide with the completion of the streetscape improvements in late 2010.  The current system of parking kiosks will remain in place until that time.
