There’s a marvelous place to go shopping,

And dining and playing ’til dropping.

   It’s Cherry Creek North

   Where you should go forth.

St. Patrick will surely be hopping!

Aye, and it’s a grand season here in Cherry Creek North, so we’re celebrating everything green – St. Patrick, of course, and all things Irish, but also sustainability, fresh food and, while we’re at it, the coming of Spring. Come down and kick off the warmer months with a visit to your favorite Denver neighborhood. And wear something green!

Live

Greenest Envy
The condos, flats and brownstones at NorthCreek between 1st and 2nd avenues from Fillmore to Detroit streets are the chicest urban living options in Denver. Indoor bicycle parking and easy on-foot access to neighboring shops and restaurants makes it as convenient as it is eco-friendly. With amenities spanning 24-hour concierge, newspaper deliver, same-day dry cleaning, porter service, ticket procurement for cultural and sporting events, and even pet sitting, walking, grooming and boarding, you may never need to set foot outside Cherry Creek North. Now that will leave ‘em green with envy.
Cycle Central
As the weather warms up, take the opportunity to get out and about with some green transportation. The Cherry Creek Bike Rack at 171 Detroit St. will rent you the Trek Pilot 2.1 road bike, the Trek 7200 Multitrack hybrid or the Electra Amsterdam cruiser at minimum daily rates starting at $27, or weekly rates of $195. Helmets and cable locks are included with each rental. The Bike Rack also has all the cycle styles and accessories that will leave you ready to ride.
Hot Spot
Refresh with a Wild Mint Wrap. The treatment that moisturizes as you bask in the fragrant mixture of natural mint and Colorado mud to sooth mind and body is signature of the spa at Cherry Creek’s Pura Vida (formerly Nectar) at 2955 E. 1st Ave. Condé Nast Traveler listed Nectar on the Hot List Spas of 2009, and they aren’t cooling down anytime soon.

Eat

Cabbage Match
This time of year you can’t have a Guinness without craving an authentic Irish meal to go with it. Continental Deli at 250 Steele St. Suite 112 has corned beef and cabbage fit for a gourmand. The 1 lb package of beef eye round is cured, cooked and ready to serve with traditional green cabbage or Continental Deli’s specialty Kruggermann Rotkohl (red cabbage with apples). Slainte me boyos!
Crunch Time
Mad Greens Inspired Eats at 222 Columbine St. is the healthy and tasty way to slip into spring (and your swimsuit) in time for spring break. The lowest calorie option is the Van Gogh, which combines spinach, carrots, vine-ripened tomatoes, couscous, currants and dried apricots in only 127 calories of delicious, plus the lemon vinaigrette dressing. It packs a crunch.
Fresh Style
Here in the North, we’re all about what’s in, especially eco-style. We applaud Whole Foods Market at 2375 E. First Ave. for making canvas reusable shopping bags a fashion staple for any season. Not only are shoppers getting fresh and flavorful food, but they are also supporting sustainable living and agriculture. And that’s a statement that doesn’t go out of style.

Party

Green Vines, Red Wine
Sales are ripe at The Vineyard Wine Shop at 261 Fillmore St. The 39th spring case lot sale will be held through March 31st, so now is the time to stock up because deep discounts only apply to purchases of full cases (12 bottles) or half cases (6 bottles). Hurry in, the selection is divine!
Kilts On
You can bet yer four-leaf clover The Cherry Cricket will be hosting the best St. Paddy’s celebration once again. On parade day, March 13th and St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, come down to 2641 E. 2nd Ave for all the bagpipes, green beer and tradition you can drink in. Erin Go Bragh!
