2011 Bead Invitational at PISMO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2011 Bead Invitational

Opening Reception: Sunday, May 1, 2011, 12-5pm
Exhibition: May 1 – May 31, 2011

(Denver, CO) – March 30, 2011:  An exciting selection of glass beads from around the world will once again adorn PISMO Fine Art Glass in Cherry Creek North, Denver in its sixth annual Bead Invitational.  This year’s exhibition opens May 1st with a public reception in the gallery from 12-5pm, and continues throughout the month.  The Denver gallery is located at 2770 East 2nd Avenue.

More than half of the artists represented in 2011 will be new exhibitors – offering a delightful selection of fanciful to elegant individual beads as well as jewelry and sculpture made from beads.

As in the past, the show celebrates the art of the bead and its place in glass art; miniature little worlds abound.  Bead aficionados will be able to examine, handle, compare and buy individual beads by more than 40 artists from the US, Germany, Australia, Israel, Panama, and Japan.  The selection will include bobble-head beads by March Lamberson, wild animal beads by Joy Cichewicz, beaded purses by Sherry Serafini, carnival masks by Debbie Weaver, a beaded snake by Kim Z Franklin, Hawaiian flowers by Kuniko Kume, and whimsical totems by Christine Mann.

Based on customer requests, the gallery will also introduce a selection of marbles this year by several well known marble artists including John Kobuki, Raj Kommineni, Kevin O’Grady, and Geoffrey Beetem.

The main floor of the gallery will be devoted to all forms of beads and marbles during May while the rest of PISMO’s beautiful, fine art glass selection will be on view on the second floor of the gallery.

PISMO Fine Art Glass opened in 1990 as a mixed media gallery and switched primarily to glass in 1995. Owner Sandy Sardella operates three additional PISMO galleries, in Beaver Creek, Vail, and Aspen, Colorado. The galleries are recognized internationally for the breadth and depth of their collections, offering a wide range of fine art pieces for both casual admirers and serious collectors.  For more information, please contact gallery owner Sandy Sardella at 303-333-2879 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
