How did your journey with Sinless Sun Spray Tanning begin, and what inspired you to bring a sunless tanning experience to Cherry Creek North?

After nearly 20 years in corporate beauty and wellness with Estée Lauder and Aveda, I knew I wanted a change after having my son. My job involved traveling all over the country opening salons and spas, and as a new single mom, I realized that lifestyle just wasn’t sustainable anymore. Around that same time, I had a terrible spray tan experience before a work awards event. The tan was orange, streaky, smelled awful, and completely uncustomized. I remember thinking there has to be a better way to do this.

Because of my industry background, I connected with chemists and developed my own skincare-based tanning solution that was hydrating, healthy for the skin, and tailored to each client. I started out tanning clients in my home for a couple of weeks, then quickly moved into a salon space before opening in Cherry Creek North.

At the time, sunless tanning was still very new, and I wanted to bring a more elevated, wellness-focused experience to the neighborhood. Cherry Creek felt like the perfect fit because the community really values health, self-care, and quality service — and that’s still why I love being here today.

For someone visiting Sinless Sun for the first time, what can they expect from the experience?

At Sinless Sun, every tan is completely customized to the client. We look at each person’s skin tone and undertones, talk through their goals, and recommend the best products and timing for their lifestyle. Some clients prefer our traditional tan with a longer development time, while others love the convenience of our rapid tan options.

What really sets us apart is the level of personalization and care. We use high-quality, skincare-based formulas with organic ingredients whenever possible, and we customize the color so it works beautifully for every skin tone — there’s never a one-size-fits-all approach here.

We’ve also built our business around relationships and community. We truly get to know our clients, remember the details of their lives, and keep detailed notes so every visit feels personal and consistent, no matter who they see. Because spray tanning can feel vulnerable for some people, we focus heavily on making everyone feel comfortable, confident, and cared for from the moment they walk in.

One of my favorite parts of this work is seeing how a little extra glow can help people feel more confident in their own skin. It’s not really about changing someone — it’s about helping their natural confidence shine through.

What advice would you give to someone who is new to spray tanning or preparing for their first appointment?

The biggest thing I want first-time clients to know is that this is a completely judgment-free environment. A lot of people feel nervous about spray tanning or being vulnerable in front of someone new, but we’re truly here to help people feel comfortable, confident, and good about themselves.

Proper prep definitely helps — exfoliating, shaving, and staying hydrated before your appointment all make a difference. After your tan, continuing to moisturize and following the aftercare instructions will help your results last longer and fade evenly.

What also makes Sinless Sun different is how customized the experience is. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all tan. We look at your skin tone, undertones, and how your skin naturally tans or burns, then mix a formula specifically for you. We have dozens of base shades and customize everything so the result looks natural and blends seamlessly with your skin.

At the end of the day, we want clients to leave feeling like the best version of themselves — comfortable, glowing, and confident.

How can a custom spray tan enhance someone’s confidence or overall look for events, travel, or everyday life?

A custom spray tan can absolutely boost someone’s confidence. Whether it’s for a wedding, vacation, date night, interview, or just everyday life, people tend to feel a little more polished, radiant, and comfortable in what they’re wearing. When you feel good about how you look, you naturally carry yourself with more confidence and energy.

I think that’s why clients keep coming back — it’s really a feel-good experience. It’s not about changing who you are; it’s about enhancing your natural glow and helping you feel like the best version of yourself.

From the beginning, another big part of my mission was helping people move away from tanning beds and toward healthier options. Everything we do at Sinless Sun is skin-first. Our solutions are skincare-based with hydrating and antioxidant ingredients, and we’re huge believers in daily sunscreen and protecting your skin while still getting that sun-kissed look safely.

Which services or treatments are the most popular right now?

Right now, our rapid tan solution is definitely our most popular service. Clients love the convenience of being able to rinse in just two to four hours instead of waiting the traditional eight to ten hours with a regular tan. A lot of people come in after work, get their tan, and are still able to shower before bed, which fits much more easily into busy schedules. Over the last few years, we’ve really seen the industry shift toward rapid tanning because clients want beautiful, natural-looking results without the long wait time. The convenience factor has made it a favorite for both longtime spray tan clients and first-timers alike.

How would you describe your approach when working with clients to achieve a natural, personalized glow?

It really starts with the consultation and taking a custom approach to each client. We look at skin tone and ask what they’re tanning for—because it’s not one-size-fits-all. Some clients want a subtle glow for everyday in Denver, and a different depth if they’re heading on vacation or wearing a swimsuit.

We take detailed notes on every client so we can fine-tune their color each time, going a little lighter or deeper as needed. The goal is always a natural-looking glow that enhances their skin—not anything orange or overdone.

What have some of your most memorable client experiences been?

One of my most memorable experiences was early on, when a mom brought in her high school daughter who was really struggling with acne and confidence. She started spray tanning regularly, and I could genuinely see her confidence shift over time—it changed how she carried herself. Her mom noticed it too and became a consistent client because of the impact it had.

That’s really the most rewarding part of what I do; helping people feel better about themselves. So many of us are overly critical of our appearance, and when someone leaves feeling more confident, that sticks with me.

There’s also an important wellness side to it. I love that spray tanning gives people an alternative to sun exposure or tanning beds. It’s a safer option that helps prevent long-term skin damage, so in a way, it’s about confidence now and care for the future too.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Cherry Creek North business community and as a women-owned business?

Being part of Cherry Creek North has meant a lot to my business. When I started here almost 20 years ago, it really gave my brand credibility and legitimacy in the market. It also connected me with the kind of clientele I wanted; people who care about quality, consistency, and the health of their skin.

Over time, that trust has built real community. Clients come back because they like the service and the results, and that consistency has been everything for growth. I also hear often from new clients that they tried somewhere else first and didn’t have a great experience, which reinforces why they come here. They know they can trust us.

Being a woman-owned business in this community has made that even more meaningful, because it’s been about building something long-term that people rely on and feel good about coming back to.
