Where to Drink Margaritas
Category:Where To...
No one really knows who dreamed up the margarita, one of the most popular cocktails in America and arguably the best drink to sip on while basking in Colorado's abundant sunshine.
But its dubious origins shouldn't hold you back from enjoying some tequila-and-lime time on one of Cherry Creek North's many restaurant patios.
In honor of National Margarita Day on Feb. 22, we rounded up a few places that serve up this Mexican-inspired cocktail, but you can enjoy these drinks year-round!

Cherish Spirits Lounge
Whether you like shaken, rocks or citrus, Cherish will handcraft your margarita with house-made infusions that showcase the flavors of unique ingredients without compromising the spirit with unnecessary sugar, water, or artificial flavor.
Specialty margarita tequila infusions include: arbol chili, pink peppercorn, pineapple, grapefruit, hibiscus, and strawberry.
Del Frisco's Grille
At Del Frisco's Grille, the beverage team opts for straightforward, clean and simple to let the balance between the tequila, lime, sweet and sour shine though.
In the Perfect Margarita ($12), the 2:1:1 ratio is perfectly executed with clean, floral Hornitos Plata tequila, sweet and bitter Cointreau and a splash of fresh squeezed lime.
It’s a “splash of sunshine” cocktail to sip with a juicy steak, piled-high hamburger or plate of Ahi tacos and chase the winter blues away.
Machete Tequila + Tacos
Cointreau, tequila and freshly juiced lime make for a deliciously classic combination.
Add in a sunken patio perfect for people watching, and Machete might be the right spot to spend your afternoon in the sun.
Fun fact: Machete is home to Denver’s first private tequila cage.
Margs Taco Bistro
An afternoon at Marg's Taco Bistro will make you wish that all afternoons were spent south of the border, barefoot, with margarita salt on your lips.
In keeping with their philosophy of simplicity, Margs Taco Bistro offers basically everything found in their name, including a bevy of tasty margaritas.
The watermelon mint and "strawbenaro," a tasty combo of strawberries and habanero peppers, top our list of favorite signature margarita options.
Moxy Denver Cherry Creek
When the bar is the hotel check-in, you know you're in for a good time.
Moxy's spicy and smoky Mezcal Marg is best enjoyed while playing a round of Jenga or Connect 4 in the lobby area or outside in the Cherry Creek Beer Garden, the hotel's outdoor watering hole where you can grab light bites and enjoy the Colorado sunshine.
SOL Mexican Cocina
The covered patio, baja coastal cuisine and California vibes are just three reasons this large-yet-cozy restaurant is always buzzing.
Sip on one of their specialty margs like the Casa Noble SOL Single Barrel Margarita, which features SOL’s private label single barrel Casa Noble Reposado, shaken tableside, served house or skinny style.
Or go for the unexpected with their Blackberry Ginger Margarita (pictured) with blanco tequila, fresh lime and agave nectar.
True Food Kitchen
Two refreshing margaritas highlight this healthy, chef-driven restaurant's cocktail menu.
The Ginger Margarita, made with organic reposado tequila, ginger liqueur, sea buckthorn and honey is perfect for anyone looking for a twist on the classic; and the Citrus Skinny Margarita (pictured) keeps it clean and fresh with organic blanco tequila, muddled citrus, cucumber and mint.
