About Snow Removal

Snow removal is performed by the City of Denver, businesses, residents and property owners. The BID provides supplemental services on the public right of way and sidewalks. Once snow has stopped falling, property owners have four hours and residents have 24 hours to remove snow and ice from public sidewalks adjacent to their property as required by Denver Revised Municipal Code. The City and County of Denver is responsible for plowing the city streets and has classified Cherry Creek North as a Level A Priority.

Streetscape & Landscape

Streets are places, too. The BID beautifies the area through seasonal landscaping and decor programs with:

Denver’s Art & Garden District

Denver’s Art & Garden District

In November of 2010, the BID financed and managed the design and construction of The New North, an $18.5 million streetscape renovation effort created to retain and attract visitors and users, and to protect and preserve the District’s character, while keeping it a competitive retail environment. With a theme of Art and Garden, the streetscape frames and supports an active and attractive public realm. Improvements included:

  • New landscaping to beautify the area and
conserve water
  • New lighting for safety and energy conservation
  • Better way-finding signs to enrich the pedestrian experience

The BID implemented 20 distinct Art and Garden spaces throughout the District, each with signature street furniture, lighting, public art or other special elements to encourage people to relax more and linger longer. The District’s signature event space, Fillmore Plaza, also received a significant renovation, allowing it to host a wider range of large events. The project was completed in July of 2011.
