Behind the Scenes: Holiday Commercial

'Tis the season to enjoy festive celebrations, shop for loved ones and even take a little time for yourself. But in Cherry Creek North, expect the unexpected—you never know who (or what) may just come zipping around the corner.

From sipping handcrafted lattes to indulging in a spectacular spa day, there are endless ways to celebrate the holidays in Denver's most walkable 16-block shopping and dining destination. All season long, Cherry Creek North is decked in dazzling lights that entice you to extend happy hour to a night out on the town (and maybe even book a relaxing weekend-long escape in one of four hotels).

To showcase Cherry Creek North's holiday spirit, we partnered with 22 area businesses to bring the season to life in a new holiday commercial. Below, watch the video and scroll to see behind-the-scenes photos of how we made it all happen.

Behind the Scenes

Two days before filming, a monstrous October snowstorm hit that nearly jeopardized the shoot. However, our crew and talent braved the elements to bring our whimsical vision to life.

Take a look at what went into making the commercial, including featured store items and partners.

(Not pictured: many, many heat lamps and hand warmers, and an incredibly helpful snow removal crew who transformed Fillmore Plaza almost overnight!)

James Dodd, who works as a barista at Aviano Coffee, had the most difficult job on set: pouring a latte on the go! On Charlene: Suit jacket and pants - MAX Clothing Store, Boots - Rags Consignments, Earrings - Francesca's, Purse - Denver Darling Boutique. On James: Shirt - Bonobos, Tie - Deja Blue Boutique. (And the barstool can be found at CB2!)

Shania Hardisty usually spends days behind the front desk at Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, but she happily laid back, relaxed and became the client for a day. On Shania: Robe - HALCYON, a hotel in Cherry Creek, Face mask - Hand & Stone.

Off Charlene and Shania go for a spa day! On Charlene: Gloves - Lawrence Covell, Headscarf - Francesca's, Sunglasses - SEE Eyewear. (Shania's chair is from Room & Board).

Photoshoot stylist Tina is an expert gift wrapper and wrapped all the gifts featured in the commercial. She perfected her skills while working at Artisan Center for nine years!

Pro tip: scarves fly better when they're tied! Scarf: Denver Darling Boutique.

Our mannequins-on-the-move were dressed to the nines by a few District businesses: Tuxedo and shirt - Indochino, Woman's dress - Mariel Boutique, Girl's dress - Hollyhocks "Baby Boutique" & Children's Apparel.

You might have noticed both Charlene and Parker the dog are familiar faces from our summer photo shoot. Parker was a pro at riding sidecar! Parker's collar - Chuck & Don's, Pom pom garland - Paper Source.
