What first inspired you to pursue cosmetic surgery, and what continues to motivate you today?

One of my biggest inspirations was my aunt, who practiced in South America. She introduced me to this field at a young age, and I was involved in medical and cosmetic procedures beginning around age 16. It’s been more than 15 years now, and that early exposure shaped the way I see medicine and aesthetics. What continues to motivate me is the opportunity to keep innovating and helping patients achieve beautiful, natural-looking results.

How would you describe your philosophy when it comes to cosmetic surgery and aesthetic treatments?

My philosophy is that what we’re doing today should be the steppingstone for what we’ll be doing tomorrow. We’re always looking for ways to improve our techniques, refine our approach, and deliver the best possible outcomes in the most natural way. Innovation never stops, and neither should we.

Your practice often talks about blending artistry with medical science. What does that mean in your day-to-day work?

There are surgeons who have an exceptional ability to see aesthetics, understand tissue, and evaluate every aspect of a patient in a way that leads to outstanding results. I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the most talented hands in the world and incorporating parts of their expertise into my own practice. Over time, you develop your own artistic and technical approach, and that’s what allows you to consistently achieve exceptional outcomes.

You developed the J-Plazty Face and Neck Lift. Can you tell us how that procedure came about and what makes it unique?

J-Plazty started with an “aha” moment. I had this vision of using plasma energy beneath the skin to create tightening before I ever attempted the procedure. Today, that approach has spread to more than 59 countries and has helped redefine what’s possible with skin tightening.

It has revolutionized the way we approach liposuction and has become especially important in the era of GLP-1 medications. As more people lose significant amounts of weight quickly, technologies like plasma energy and radiofrequency can help maintain skin integrity and reduce the need for larger surgical excisions.

Imagine someone losing 50 pounds and being able to achieve beautiful skin tightening without traditional surgery. That’s what excites me, finding ways to deliver results that once required more invasive procedures while creating outcomes that look natural, not surgical.

The field of aesthetics is constantly evolving. How do you stay on the cutting edge of new techniques and technology?

A lot of innovation comes from observation. During surgery, you start asking questions like, “Could we accomplish this through a smaller opening?” or “What if we delivered energy at a different depth or tissue plane?” Sometimes those ideas work, and when they do, we share them by teaching other physicians around the world.

I’ve also been fortunate to work closely with medical device companies, which gives me the opportunity to help develop new techniques and technologies. For example, like the RF Microneedling with stem cells on the face; stem cell therapy was researched as a treatment for COVID.

And a lot of it is also luck at times. Some innovations begin with a single patient and eventually lead to much larger clinical applications. That’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Many people are interested in cosmetic procedures but feel nervous or unsure. What would you say to someone considering treatment for the first time?

Meet with your surgeon, and don’t be afraid to get multiple consultations. Second opinions are valuable. As you meet different surgeons, you’ll get a sense of who you trust and what approach feels right for you. That’s one of the most important parts of the process.

What are some of the most common misconceptions people have about cosmetic surgery or aesthetic treatments?

One of the biggest misconceptions is that cosmetic surgeons want patients to look unnatural. That’s never the goal. Our goal is for patients to look youthful, refreshed, and rejuvenated, not operated.

Every patient is different, and every population responds differently to various techniques and technologies. I’ve operated throughout South America, the Middle East, and other parts of the world, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. You have to tailor every procedure to the individual. Denver is a wonderful place to practice because people here tend to prioritize their health, and that contributes to excellent healing and beautiful outcomes.

What do you enjoy most about helping patients achieve their aesthetic goals?

The relationships. I love seeing patients come back 10 or even 20 years later looking incredible and wanting just a little more refinement. It’s rewarding to see the longevity of your practice, but even more rewarding to build lasting relationships with the people you care for.

Looking ahead, what’s next for Jack Zamora MD Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetics? Are there any new treatments, technologies, or goals you’re excited about?

Right now, we’re focused on continuing the development of Attiva subdermal radiofrequency across both face and body procedures. Over the last three years, we’ve seen remarkable outcomes, and now we’re combining that technology with biologics and complementary devices to create a new generation of skin rejuvenation.

We introduced J-Plazty 10 years ago, and now we’re entering what I think of as J-Plazty 2.0 with Attiva. It’s exciting to continue building on that foundation and pushing the field forward.

As you continue to build upon your legacy, what do you hope people know Jack Zamora MD Cosmetic Surgery for?

I hope we’re known for innovation. Not just within aesthetics, but for exploring technologies that may have broader medical applications. Whether that’s contributing to research related to Alzheimer’s, autism, or other areas, I want our practice to be recognized for continuing to ask what’s possible. There’s still so much left to discover.
